“We fail not because we aim high and miss but aim too low and hit. Aim high, reach out for the stars and the sky will be a starting point.”- Les Brown

These were our watch words at the beginning of the administration, we had grand plans, great goals and driven with a sense of vision to keep NSF soaring higher. Since the advent of COVID-19, education had been halted, businesses locked down and most shocking of all, religious centers were shutdown. This affected humanity in unimaginable ways. Nevertheless, we have been persistent and horned the spirit of resilience and innovation. We have been able to revive student chapters of inactive campuses, increases student base membership and mobilized for new chapter creation hereafter will be inaugurated during and after the conference when schools reopens.

At the heart of the lockdown, we had our maiden NSF National Technical Summit tagged “break through Industry 4.0” with the mission to introduce students to the emerging technologies in industry 4.0 and the opportunities it provides. The testimonies of this program still echoes.

The All Ladies in Tech Summit was yet another brilliant program which brought excelling female engineers together to offer career guidance and motivation for the budding ladies in tech. An initiative from 2019 which has come to stay.

In this professional year, every month we consistently engaged students with technical sessions for career development, academic and professional excellence leveraging on video conferencing tools which gave all students this opportunity from around the country. Our facilitators have been seasoned professionals within and outside the country and has delivered rich and empowering trainings.

Following the last administration’s tireless labor for student development, we have advocated in the implementation of the trailblazing programs for student’s career development organized by NIMechE.

Yet again, we will witness another Design Challenge, of sound engineering innovation organized by NIMechE and sponsored by the Royal Academy of engineering, The Forging Africa’s future Mechanical Engineers (FAFME).

Throughout the year, NIMechE launched the “NIMechE Internship and Mentorship Platform” with promise to create a meeting point between students and professionals. This platform also provides opportunities for internship placements. Get acquainted and enjoy the exciting benefits these platforms provide.

In collaboration with TheReformers Initiative, we are set to launch a campaign this year at the conference tagged “1000 Book Campaign”. It is aimed at providing library facilities and providing at least 1000 books for secondary schools for enhancing Quality Education (SDG-4). I thank God almighty for grace and wisdom and the success we have been granted thus far. I appreciate the National Chairman and the council members for their support and kind considerations for NSF.

I must specially celebrate my executives who have been the powerhouse of this administration, all appointees and committee leaders have been exceptional hardworking. Thank you all who has been supportive in the organization and attendance of this conference, family and friends you remain loved please accept my highest regards

Best wishes till we meet again!
